The 2008 Dayton Children's Parade will be held on Friday, Nov. 27th at 8pm. For those of you volunteering to be part of the video crew, you should meet us at Courthouse Square at 6:30pm.

Fiber Optics

Time Warner cable has recently instituted a new Fiber Optic connection between DATV's master control room and the Time Warner headend.

This new connection will allow for a better signal quality on both DATV and Dayton Spiritual Television.

Philo Award Entries

Entries are now being accepted for the 2009 Philo T. Farnsworth Video Festival

Entry forms are located in the Volunteer Lounge or you can go to the Central States Region website.

DATV will pay for one entry if you are a VIP Member at the $75.00 rate.
Any and all other Entries will be up to you to pay.

The fee is $17.00 each. You can make a check out to DATV and we will mail your entries to the Philo hosting site. Please make a copy of your entry on your own DVD and turn into Melissa by 12:00pm on Monday, June 29^th.

Please consider entering one of your best programs for the past year.

The awards presentation will take place at the Central States Regional Fall Conference on Friday, October 16^th in Brunswick, Ohio.

South Park Jazz Fest

DATV has just added the South Park Jazz Fest to its Summer Music Series schedule. The festival will be held on Saturday, September 26th in the South Park Neighborhood. If you would like to volunteer to be a part of the crew contact Dorothy at 223-5311.

Edit Suite Updates

As of July 6th we will no longer have SVHS decks in edit suites 1 & 3. The only room where you can use SVHS will be in edit suite 2.

Local filmmaker Andy Copp will debut his latest locally produced feature length horror film "QUIET NIGHTS OF BLOOD AND PAIN" at the Neon Movies on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:30 pm.

The film titled "QUIET NIGHTS OF BLOOD AND PAIN" was shot entirely on location in the Dayton area and features local actors and crew. It is the 6th Feature film produced and directed by Copp in Dayton, Ohio. Past films have included; "THE MUTILATION MAN", "BLACK SUN" and "THE ATROCITY CIRCLE".

Tickets will be available at the box office. DVDs of the movie will also been on sale at the event at a reduced rate for movie goers. T-shirts and other promotional items will be for sale after the show as well.

Green With Envy

DATV has painted its Chorma Key wall in the studio. The wall has been changed from blue to green. We believe the new color will allow for better clipping during the editing process. We have also made the wall much larger. Thanks to Dale and Andy for their efforts.

Dayton Spiritual Promotion

To help us promote the fact that Dayton Spiritual Television will be moving to Digital Channel 724 as of March 31st. We will be running a lower third graphic during all MPEG shows played back on the channel.
